The vast majority take part to complete the course and raise sponsorship money for their chosen causes, however there is a competitive race for the seriously fit walkers. The aches and pains suffered along the way can be offset by spectacular views of Shropshire and Staffordshire from the Brown Clee, and an enormous sense of achievement on reaching the finishing line.
