World Marathon Challenge winner Susannah Gill has entered the inaugural Bridgnorth Lions Marathon on the Spring Bank Holiday Monday, May 27th.
Susannah recently became the fastest woman to run seven marathons in seven days on seven continents setting a new World record with an average time of three hours 28 minutes for each marathon. She competed alongside 39 other runners completing races in Antarctica, Cape Town, Perth, Dubai, Madrid, Santiago and Miami.
After announcing the event in January, Bridgnorth Lions now has the necessary approvals for the route which follows the traditional Walk route from Bridgnorth all the way to the top of the Brown Clee. Runners will then go down the back of the Brown Clee, across to Burf Bank, round to Cockshutford and back to Ditton Priors before returning to Bridgnorth.
Susannah, whose parents live in Much Wenlock, said: “This sounds like a fantastic event and I am really looking forward to running a wonderful route through an area which I know and love. It’s the perfect way to spend a bank holiday Monday and I hope lots of people will turn out and enjoy Shropshire’s beautiful countryside.”
